Susan

Susan has loved singing a cappella since joining The Amherst College Bluestockings about a gazillion years ago.  She is grateful to sing with another bunch of fabulous women and is especially glad to sing rich harmonies!  Susan's most permeating musical influences include The Bee Gees, The Moody Blues, Electric Light Orchestra, George Michael and Alanis Morissette.

Susan lives in Brighton with her technical director husband, their two teenage sons and their menagerie of three cats and two dogs.

Melissa

Though born and raised in the suburbs, Melissa is a committed city dweller and has been for over 30 years. She was in choruses and musicals throughout childhood but before Boom Chicks hadn't sung for an audience since 1989. She teaches English literature at St. John Fisher College and lives with her husband and daughter, both of whom sing all day long, and with their dog, bearded dragon, and goldfish, none of whom sing.

Elaine

Elaine spent most of her youth performing in children’s theatre, playing a variety of fairy-tale and
animal characters. Her love of singing and dancing started during those years. Later, Elaine continued her love of singing while pursuing a theatre degree at Webster University. Currently, she is a Training & Development Professional who helps people develop their career skills.
Elaine moved to Rochester with her family 16 years ago. She is thankful to be part of the Boom Chicks!

Emily

Emily has always loved music; it's rumored she sang "The Star Spangled Banner" before she was two. Emily has taught general music and piano for 15 and 25 years, respectively. She considers herself a Disney, Broadway, and Harry Potter addict. When not with The Boom Chicks, Emily can be found cooking, eating, traveling, and raising service dog puppies. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and numerous dogs near Rochester, NY.

Rashmi

Rashmi was born and raised outside of Philadelphia and has been singing all her life, starting with North Indian classical music when she was three. She especially loves '80s music, Renaissance polyphony, and showtunes. She sang in an a cappella quartet while in med school and is so excited to have found similar musical fellowship and good friendship with The Boom Chicks. Rashmi is a hospice and palliative medicine doc and lives with her husband, two sons, and two cats.

Silvana

Silvana, born in Argentina, is a Jewish Educator who loves to sing. Silvana sees herself as an "a cappella mom" as she has enjoyed watching her son perform through high school and now in the Binghamton Crosbys, but she never thought she would have the opportunity to perform a capella herself with no previous experience! Silvana is grateful to sing with The Boom Chicks and to share the fun and joy of music with others.

Leah

From constantly singing around the house, to sitting next to her father's art show booth with her viola and a case open for tips, Leah's childhood was always rich with music.  It was no surprise when Leah chose to attend Fredonia (BA) and Eastman (MA) for Music education. Leah taught Vocal/General music in Churchville Chili for 8 years until she took a break to raise her family.  Since then, she has had various teaching roles such as music/6th grade at Temple Sinai, music at The Wolk Children's Center, and private lessons.  In her spare time, Leah enjoys performing with Atebayilla, a West African Drum and Dance ensemble in Rochester and making opal jewelry.  Leah lives in Fairport with her Husband, two kids, and their dog.

Marie

Born and raised in Rochester, NY. Traveled to Europe, South America and Middle East (Israel). Likes classical, dance, and pop music (of the '80s especially). Super glad to have joined Boom Chicks which got me enthusiastic about singing again.

Tziporah

Tziporah is over the moon to return to a cappella singing for the first time in forever (no, not like THAT). She holds the distinct honor of being the Chick who's lowest to the ground, and often lowest in her sound, too. :) She sang in her college all female a cappella group and misses the shenanigans of that time of life! She enjoys an eclectic mix of music, from R&B classics to classic rock, today's top hits and the stuff of your road trip mix tapes from the 80s and 90s. When she's not singing she's focused on learning and teaming in healthcare. She loves harmonies and excited audiences and is proud to call herself a Boom Chick.
